Jason A. Parson was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1989 and now concentrates his practice of law in the areas of Medical and Healthcare Litigation, Medical Malpractice Defense, Healthcare Counseling, Commercial Litigation, and Staff Privileging Disputes.

He represents healthcare providers and other entities before various state (IDPH, IDF&PR, IDHFS) and federal (HHS, DOL, DOJ, HCFA) administrative agencies (investigations, audits, complaints, and hearings).

He regularly counsels healthcare institutions regarding a wide variety of matters, such as compliance with state and federal laws, patient rights issues, privacy and privilege issues, consent, contractual issues, and medical staff privilege procedures.

He frequently represents hospitals, medical staffs, and individual physicians in staff privilege disputes and has served both as a hearing officer and as counsel to appellate committees in staff privileging matters, as well as handling civil litigation arising out of credentialing disputes.

His experience also includes all aspects of the defense of medical malpractice and medical products lawsuits and premises liability claims, as well as federal statutory actions, civil rights, and employment discrimination areas of the law.  He has defended all manner of medical malpractice lawsuits and Healthcare Litigation in the state and federal courts, and he has tried numerous cases to verdict in the federal and state courts.

Born in Madisonville, Kentucky, Mr. Parson earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Indianapolis in 1985 and his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1988, where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Washington University Law Quarterly.  Jason served as law clerk to the Hon. John F. Nangle, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Missouri, from 1988 to1990 before undertaking the private practice of law.  Before forming Anderson, Rasor & Partners, LLP, he practiced at Lord, Bissell & Brook in Chicago.  Jason is admitted to practice in Illinois and the U.S. District Court (Northern District of Illinois).

Mr. Parson has been peer-rated by Martindale Hubbell as “Preeminent” for over 20 years, which reflects the highest level of professional excellence with regard to both legal ability and ethical standards, and he has been selected for inclusion by the Leading Lawyers Network for both Health Care Law and Medical Malpractice Defense since 2014.
