Mark J. Lura was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1986 and now concentrates his practice of law in the areas of Medical Malpractice Litigation, Hospital Liability Defense and Nursing Home Negligence. Mr. Lura was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Lincoln Christian College in 1974. Mr. Lura received his M.Div., cum laude, from Lincoln Christian Seminary in 1978, and received his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School, with distinction, in 1986. Following graduation, Mr. Lura clerked for the Honorable Harry D. Strouse, Jr., and the Honorable Lawrence D. Inglis of the Illinois Second District Appellate Court.

Mr. Lura has tried numerous cases to verdict. All have been in Cook County and have been medical malpractice cases. These trials have primarily been cases involving catastrophic injury. Since 2006, Mr. Lura has been named a Super Lawyer in Illinois in the area of Professional Liability: Defense. Super Lawyers are the top 5 percent of attorneys in each state, as chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics. He carries the highest rating of AV from Martindale and Hubbell and is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Society which requires extensive trial experience for membership. In 2013, Mr. Lura was inducted as a Fellow into the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers. He is an experienced trial attorney and has tried numerous cases involving catastrophic injury to verdict. Among his cases worked up to trial include those involving birth trauma, neonatal injury, death and neurological injury. The one trial resulting in an adverse verdict actually lowered the value for neonatal deaths in Cook County for a time. His extensive pre-trial and trial experience makes him a valued member of the Birth Trauma Defense Team at Anderson, Rasor and Partners, LLP.
